2012 Toyota Land Cruiser Best Adventure Cars

Am I the Land Cruiser type? Don’t assume there’s just one type. Since 1951, Toyota Land Cruiser has taken all sorts of people to every corner of the earth. Renowned for its off-road prowess and reliability, Land Cruiser has been used by photojournalists in the Middle East, researchers in the Amazon, doctors in Africa, you name it.... Ultimately, though, Toyota Land Cruiser is for anybody in search of real adventure, one-of-a-kind experiences and journeys that don’t involve a gift shop. Because what unites Toyota Land Cruiser owners isn’t a background but a belief. A belief that the world is worth exploring. Every time you start off on a journey, whether it’s a quiet weekend away or a quick trip around town, rest assured we’re with you every step of the way. For more than 50 years, Toyota engineering has created more than just durable vehicles. It’s created enduring memories.

Searching for adventure beats hunting for your keys. So when you approach 2012 Toyota Land Cruiser with the Smart Key fob in your pocket, the interior illuminates automatically. This hands-free feature also lets you unlock the doors when you touch the door handle and simply push a button to start the vehicle. Since its arrival, Toyota’s legendary SUV has visited hundreds of countries and logged millions of miles on countless different types of terrain. That should give you lots of confi dence as you contemplate your next expedition. Because few, if any, other vehicles have Land Cruiser’s nearly 60-year track record of getting intrepid souls to places others will only ever see in photographs. With all the power and torque on tap in Land Cruiser, even the most inhospitable terrain seems inviting. Under the hood lies a 5.7-liter Double Overhead Cam (DOHC) 32-valve V8. Dual Independent Variable Valve Timing with intelligence (VVT-i) and Acoustic Control Induction System (ACIS) help the engine produce a whopping 381 hp and 401 lb.-ft. of torque.

You can’t very well stop and ask for directions when you’re the only person around for miles. So it’s good to know that Land Cruiser offers an available voice-activated touch-screen DVD navigation system. It could well be the key to getting back. Other available features include a backup camera and hands-free phone and music streaming via Bluetooth wireless technology. Providing the soundtrack for your adventures is  2012 Land Cruiser available JBL Synthesis AM/FM 6-disc in-dash CD changer with 14 speakers, including a subwoofer. It also features XM Radio with a 90-day trial subscription. Music streaming and hands-free phone capability are made possible via Bluetooth wireless technology. There’s also an auxiliary audio jack and a USB port with iPod connectivity. Without your hands ever leaving the wheel, you can control Land Cruiser’s Multi-Information Display, JBL Synthesis audio system, available voice-activated DVD navigation system and Bluetooth hands-free phone features.

Land Cruiser’s wood-grain-style center console, with its leather-trimmed shift lever, offers more than just a note of refinement. That’s where the controls for Land Cruiser’s Crawl Control (CRAWL) are located. It’s remarkable to be able to navigate through untamed terrain from such sophisticated surroundings. Land Cruiser inspires confidence, and this feature is no exception. When the vehicle detects excessive wheelslip or sudden braking, it helps to enhance restraining performance for front-seat passengers by using a motor on the seatbelt retractors that cinches their seatbelts.

all these are apparent the moment you’re inside Toyota Land Cruiser. But the undeniable confi dence you feel behind the wheel owes to something else: Land Cruiser’s legendary 4-Wheel Drive (4WD) system and a chassis that’s proven itself off road time and again. When you think about it, luxury and rugged capability are a perfect combination. After all, you can take the man out of civilization, but you can’t take the civilization out of the man. As medical transport in Africa. For ranch work in the outback....Given all the ways people have used Land Cruiser over the years, it’s no surprise the 2011 Land Cruiser’s interior is both exceptionally versatile and truly comfortable. There’s seating for eight, with plenty of room for all. And a split-fold design on the second and third rows so you can trade seats for extra cargo space. Step one: Figure out where you’re headed. Step two: Confi gure as needed.

The first  2012 Toyota Land Cruiser set out decades ago. In that time it’s traveled to the most remote places on the planet. But it’s made an even more important journey as well. It’s gone from being Toyota’s fi rst 4WD vehicle to an icon of rugged reliability trusted around the globe. That’s one path we intend to keep following. This is a vehicle that easily cruises over terrain that would stop lesser vehicles in their tracks. Why? Because when you’ve been tackling extreme environments as long as Land Cruiser has, you learn how to combine both proven engineering and advanced technologies to help you get where you’re going. Take a closer look.

Think of this as off-road cruise control. In rough, low-traction situations, CRAWL takes over the braking and throttle functions, allowing you to concentrate on steering. Once activated, CRAWL helps negotiate tough terrain at one of three walking speeds. It helps prevent wheel lock and wheelspin and reduces pitch, bounce and roll. All of which lessens stress on the Land Cruiser’s drivetrain and driver. Traditional suspension systems are tuned to perform well on paved roads, but they can compromise off-road performance. KDSS automatically optimizes suspension performance both on the highway and off. On the road, it helps suppress body roll to enhance cornering performance. Off road, KDSS relaxes sway control on rough terrain for increased suspension articulation. This helps tires maintain contact with the ground on uneven terrain, and minimizes body tilt. From a standing start on an incline, HAC helps prevent the vehicle from rolling backwards as the driver switches from the brake to the accelerator. It does so by automatically braking individual wheels as required. HAC can take much of the stress and strain out of climbing steep hills, mountains and the like.

Toyota Land Cruiser’s unitized steel body is attached to a rock-solid ladder frame made of hightensile strength steel, and reinforced by ten steel cross members. Side-impact door beams add further rigidity. To enhance performance over uneven terrain, the angles on Land Cruiser’s outer muffler casing have been removed. To increase power, independent exhaust tubes feed separately into the main muffler rather than interconnecting, reducing pressure loss. Clutch-to-clutch control gives Toyota Land Cruiser’s 6-speed automatic Electronically Controlled Transmission (ECT) a lightweight, compact design. This improves performance and increases fuel efficiency in all conditions. ABS sensors detect wheel lockup during emergency braking situations, and the system helps compensate by “pulsing” individual wheel brakes. By adapting to off-road conditions such as sand, gravel or mud, this standard Multi-terrain 4-wheel ABS is ideally suited for Toyota Land Cruiser.

2012 Toyota Matrix Luxury Car

An environment in which something develops.” That’s how the dictionary defines the word “matrix.” And it’s no coincidence that this definition also describes the 2012 Toyota Matrix. With all the versatility, performance and style it offers, it’s entirely up to you to decide what that “something” will be. Whatever it is, the impressive performance of Matrix will let you run with your ideas. Ample cargo room and numerous interior configurations will let you take nearly anything along for the ride. In the end, its available All-Wheel Drive (AWD) and aggressively sculpted exterior might well make the drive itself the main event.

While it is true that the available sport fabric-trimmed 6-way adjustable driver’s seat is the place to be, in Toyota Matrix, there’s really not a bad seat in the house. Or in this case, car. Its firm, comfortable seats and sharp dash design help provide the ideal environment to enjoy its advanced audio system. With an available total of six speakers, the system delivers impressive acoustic fidelity. Plus, its available Bluetooth wireless technology will let you stream your music and operate your compatible mobile phone with your hands securely on the wheel. Be your own mobile mix-master. The standard audio system in Matrix lets you plug your MP3/WMA player into the auxiliary audio jack. Plus, the CD player will play back WMA or MP3 CDs and allow you to browse or shuffle within a selected folder or the entire CD.

The available upgraded audio system can be controlled by its head unit interface or the steering wheel-mounted controls, and provides a USB2 port, so you can put music on a flash drive. Use the standard 12V outlet as a charging station for your player, cell phone or games. And with advanced Bluetooth wireless technology, you’ll be able to stream music directly to the system from your compatible Bluetooth enabled device. It even offers SiriusXM Satellite Radio capability, along with a three-month trial subscription.

If to you a car is merely a means of transportation, then you could drive almost anything. But we’re guessing that you have livelier things in mind. From its streamlined exterior to its responsive engine, Matrix has been engineered for performance. Its engine features Variable Valve Timing with intelligence (VVT-i), a technology that automatically adjusts valve timing to optimize performance. So 2012 Matrix offers not only responsive power, but also responsible fuel economy.

The instrument panel features bright LED Optitron gauges that look sharp andhelp reduce eyestrain. Start the engine and the gauges come alive with a full sweep of the needles, indicating to the driver that all systems are, indeed, go. The sleek shape of Matrix S is even more head-turning when seen rolling on sporty 17-in. alloy wheels. Clad in performance tires, they’ll help you get a grip on all things asphalt. When equipped with AWD, Matrix is particularly nimble even when the road surface is less than cooperative. By automatically distributing engine power to the wheels that offer the most grip, the AWD system helps make the most of the traction available.

Part of what gives 2012 Toyota Matrix its sporty performance is the available double-wishbone rear suspension1 that allows each wheel to act and react to forces independently. This helps both rear wheels maintain maximum contact with the road for enhanced cornering grip. Meanwhile, power is handled by an available 158-hp 2.4-liter engine, developing 162 lb.-ft. of torque. With the available automatic transmission, Toyota Matrix S achieves an EPA-estimated 21 city/29 highway mpg rating.2 The key to such efficiency is Variable Valve Timing with intelligence (VVT-i), a technology that adjusts valve timing for an optimal balance of power and economy.

The incredibly versatile 2012 Toyota Matrix works well for everybody with the possible exception of couch potatoes. This is a vehicle designed for those who don’t just find the action, they create the action. And with spacious seating for five and its aggressive styling, Toyota Matrix makes it easy to find four friends to join you. Whether you’re heading to a gig with your gear or heading back home with a few new friends, the versatile Matrix makes sure that the show does, indeed, go on. With nearly 50 cubic feet of space in its rear cargo area1 and a 60/40 split fold-down rear seat, not to mention a slew of convenient storage compartments, the Toyota Matrix is more than gig-ready. With or without the groupies. The compact Toyota Matrix is loaded with supersize versatility. The front passenger seat folds down and the 60/40 split fold-down rear seat folds flat to open up an incredible amount of cargo room. Whether you’re packing a sound board or a snowboard, the ever-flexible Matrix has a configuration to match your gear.

The 2012 Matrix  helps provide protection against the unexpected with some of the most advanced safety features in the industry. It starts with the Star Safety System, standard on both Matrix models, and its many active safety features that help keep you out of harm’s way. Add to that a host of standard passive safety features that help protect you should trouble prove unavoidable. To help compensate for a loss of traction while cornering and help prevent sideways slipping, Enhanced VSC adjusts engine power, braking and steering torque-assist control to help the vehicle follow the direction in which it is being steered.

TRAC helps maintain traction on wet, icy, loose or uneven surfaces by applying brake force to the spinning wheel. ABS helps prevent brakes from locking up by “pulsing” brake pressure to each wheel to help you stay in control in emergency braking situations. At speeds greater than five miles per hour, when the accelerator is depressed first and the brakes are then applied firmly for longer than one-half second, SST is designed to help the driver bring the vehicle to a stop. The 2012 Matrix comes standard with an advanced front airbag system that provides dual stage functionality. The system senses impact severity and adjusts airbag deployment.

Above is a separate enclosure that keeps important documents close at hand. Corolla may be a compact car, but you wouldn’t know it to peek into the trunk. There, you’ll be pleasantly surprised to find a full 12.3 cubic feet of cargo space1 for road trip necessities. In back, Corolla offers remarkable versatility. The 60/40 split rear seat folds down to reveal a pass-through to the trunk, increasing the amount of useful rear cargo space.

The 2012 Corolla is powered by an aluminum-alloy 1.8-liter 4-cylinder 16-valve engine. Incorporating lightweight pistons and a cooling water jacket spacer surrounding the cylinder walls, the design allows the engine to be lighter and more compact. Yet the engine still produces a spirited 132 hp and 128 lb.-ft. of torque. Its efficient operation comes courtesy of Dual Variable Valve Timing with intelligence (VVT-i). VVTi automatically adjusts valve timing across the engine’s full range of operation to maintain maximum power and achieve an EPA estimated 27 city/34 highway mpg rating. With a 16-valve Double Overhead Cam (DOHC) engine that employs Dual Variable Valve Timing with intelligence (VVT-i), Corolla offers grin-affixing acceleration. Yet it’s this same technology that also helps it achieve its great mpg rating. Add to that innovations like Electric Power Steering (EPS) to lessen Corolla’s engine load and an Electronic Throttle Control System (ETCS) to lend it precise acceleration, and it becomes clear that Corolla knows how to handle itself.

It’s standard equipment. Every Corolla is built with our advanced integration of safety technologies, including Enhanced Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), Traction Control (TRAC), Anti-lock Brake System (ABS), Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD), Brake Assist (BA) and Smart Stop Technology (SST). Armed with these active safety features, Corolla can actually help you avoid accidents in the first place. It’s not every car that provides this level of safety. Just every Toyota. To help compensate for a loss of traction while cornering and help prevent sideways slipping, Corolla utilizes Enhanced VSC. The system adjusts engine power, braking and steering torque-assist control to help the vehicle follow the direction in which it is being steered. To help maintain traction on wet, icy, loose or uneven surfaces, TRAC applies brake force to the spinning wheel. To help prevent the brakes from locking up, ABS pulses brake pressure to each wheel, helping you stay in control in emergency braking situations.

To help keep the rear wheels from locking up during sudden braking situations, EBD redistributes brake force. During emergency stops, BA is designed to detect sudden or “panic” braking, then add the brake pressure needed to help prevent a collision. At speeds greater than five miles per hour, when the accelerator is depressed first and the brakes are then applied firmly for longer than one-half second, SST is designed to help the driver bring the vehicle to a complete stop. Front and rear energy-absorbing crumple zones and a collapsible steering column are designed to help dissipate impact forces in a collision and help protect occupants. Toyota Corolla comes standard with active headrests in the front seats that adjust to better support the front occupants’ heads in the event of certain lower-speed, rearend collisions.

2012 Toyota Sienna All Series Review

Family life can keep you on the go. Luckily, there’s a vehicle that can help you keep up. Meet the 2012 Toyota Sienna. The minivan that’s designed for parents as much as it is for kids. With its wide stance and streamlined profile, it looks and handles more like a performance car and less like a people mover. With a choice between two efficient engines, you’ll have the power to take the fast lane, without having to take the kids’ allowance to pay for gas. Inside, it’s a model of space and versatility. And it’s loaded with advanced technology that will impress the little ones without frustrating the grown-ups. Plus, it’s assembled in America, with some of the highest levels of North American content in the segment. Every family is unique. That’s why we offer so many different versions of Toyota Sienna. All told, there are five models to choose from: Toyota Sienna LE, Sienna SE, Sienna XLE and Sienna Limited. There’s also a choice of engines: either a thrifty 4-cylinder, standard on the Sienna and LE grades, or for more power, the available V6. And for an added measure of confidence, you can go with available All-Wheel Drive (AWD).

From its unique front and rear bumpers and sport mesh grille to its 19-in. gunmetal-finished alloy wheels and smoked sport-trimmed LED taillamps, Toyota Sienna SE takes its design cues from sports sedans, not minivans. Among Toyota Sienna Limited many standard features are leather-trimmed seating surfaces, dual moonroof, Smart Key System, front and rear parking assist sonar, and a sliding center console. It’s also available with a Dual-View Entertainment Center, Panorama Camera, Dynamic Radar Cruise Control (DRCC), rain-sensing windshield wipers and High Intensity Discharge (HID) headlamps with an Automatic High Beam feature.

You knew Sienna would be loaded with space and versatility. What you might not have expected, however, is that Sienna is also loaded with style. Notice the available woodgrain style accents, for example. Or the sports car-inspired feel of the Sienna SE, with its sport instrumentation and carbon fiber-style trim. A “60/60” overlapping dash design gives both the driver and the front passenger access to the technology on the center instrument panel. It also increases the sense of spaciousness in front. When Sienna is in Reverse, the area behind the vehicle that’s visible to the camera is displayed on the DVD navigation screen. Choose either a 180-degree wide-angle view or a regular view, and see the image in any of three modes: Projected Path, Parking Assist, or Distance Guide.

You can’t help but pamper your family with the 7-passenger Sienna Limited. A dual moonroof provides stellar views for all. Second-row lounge seating1 features reclining captain’s chairs with adjustable ottomans and armrests, climate controls and maplamps. The seats slide up to 23 inches to add comfort and make using the dual power sliding side doors even easier. And an available Dual-View Entertainment Center completes the picture. The kids are, after all, VIPs. On Sienna Limited, a standard dual moonroof creates an airy and open interior atmosphere. The front moonroof tilts open and slides over the roof, while the rear moonroof slides into the ceiling.

The available Dual-View Entertainment Center, with its 16.4-in. LCD display, can be used in either single-screen or split-screen mode. On one side, play a DVD from the built-in DVD player; on the other, play a different movie or a video game using a compatible game console or DVD player plugged into the nearby 120V AC power outlet and RCA jacks. Plus, you can control the system by remote control or from the center instrument panel, and listen using Sienna’s built-in speakers or wireless headphones. On Toyota Sienna XLE and Limited, the second row features adjustable ottomans and armrests for both captain’s chairs. Featuring a large 7-in. display, this high-resolution navigation system features Bluetooth wireless technology, a 10-speaker JBL audio system, voice recognition, embedded points of interest, CD and MP3/WMA capability, a USB port and an auxiliary audio jack.

The power third-row seat in 2012 Toyota Sienna FWD splits 60/40 to adapt to your needs. Just push two buttons, and the seat folds and retreats into the cargo area storage compartment convenient if you’re carrying lots of cargo. To serve the sliding second-row captain’s chairs, the center console in Sienna XLE AWD and Limited expands and slides rearward. So cup holders stay within easy reach of the second-row passengers. Getting people or cargo into or out of Sienna is easy. The available dual power sliding side doors are operated with a button on the remote keyless entry or available Smart Key4 fobs, with switches on the overhead console and interior center pillar, or by pulling either of the door handles. The power liftgate on Sienna SE and  Sienna XLE and Limited can also be operated with the remote keyless entry or Smart Key fobs, or with a switch on the overhead console. Both the sliding side doors and the liftgate offer jam protection.

Every 2012 Toyota Sienna  is equipped with the Star Safety System, a suite of six active safety features designed to help keep you out of harm’s way. The system includes Anti-lock Brake System helps avoid wheel lockup and helps maintain steering control during hard, straight-line braking or in slippery conditions. Enhanced Vehicle Stability Control utilizes Sienna’s Electric Power Steering (EPS) and counteracts front or rear wheelslip during turns and braking to help restore driving control. Sienna is the only minivan in its class that offers available All-Wheel Drive (AWD). The AWD system on Sienna utilizes active torque control. With an electromagnetically controlled coupling positioned at the front of the rear differential, this AWD system uses information sent from various sensors to transmit only the necessary amount of torque to the front and rear wheels.

The Anti-lock Brake System modulates brake pressure when braking hard or when braking on a slippery surface, helping to avoid wheel lockup and maintain steering control. In winter conditions, every Sienna comes prepared: Enhanced Vehicle Stability Control helps prevent the vehicle from slipping sideways as a result of losing traction while driving, cornering and/or braking. If the driver applies excessive pressure to the accelerator, Traction Control helps prevent wheel slippage on all kinds of surfaces. No matter the surface of the road, standard Electronic Brake-force Distribution optimizes stopping power. The system’s sensors read the vehicle load in Sienna and send the appropriate brake force to each wheel. In winter conditions, every Sienna comes prepared: Enhanced Vehicle Stability Control helps prevent the vehicle from slipping sideways as a result of losing traction while driving, cornering and/or braking.

No matter how you look at it, the2012 RAV4  does a variety of things extremely well. The standard 2.5-liter 4-cylinder provides an EPA-estimated 28 highway mpg rating1 while still producing 179 horses. Even more multitalented is RAV4’s available V6, which boasts an EPA-estimated 27 highway mpg rating and a remarkable 269 hp, while providing you with the sure-footed traction of available Electronic On-Demand 4WD. Electronic On-Demand 4WD controls the distribution of torque between the front and rear wheels, allowing the vehicle to automatically switch seamlessly from 2WD to 4WD mode. The result is enhanced traction, control and fuel economy.

When you’re stopped on a steep incline, Toyota RAV4 can help you get going again. Its available Hill Start Assist Control helps prevent the vehicle from rolling backward as the driver switches from the brake to the accelerator. When activated, HAC holds the brakes for approximately three seconds, giving the driver time to engage the accelerator. Designed to help provide a controlled descent on steep inclines, available Downhill Assist Control works by setting a target vehicle speed of approximately 2-4 mph. To help maintain that target speed, DAC sends a signal that automatically modulates RAV4’s powerful brakes.

2012 Toyota Camry Hybrid Review

The 2012 Toyota Camry Hybrid is a ‘new era’ sedan that stands to redefine the very image of the number one standard mid-size sedan. Yukihiro Okane Chief Engineer, Product Planning Toyota Development The Multi-Information Display helps keep you continually apprised of the Hybrid Synergy Drive energy flow and its efficient management. The use of more advanced tires allows tire air pressure to be increased, thereby reducing rolling resistance and further improving efficiency. Knowing what’s around your vehicle is key to confident driving. That’s why the 2012 Camry Hybrid offers innovative features like the available Blind Spot Monitor (BSM)and backup camera. By helping to reveal hard-to-see areas, Camry helps keep potentially dangerous situations from escaping your notice. In short, Camry helps keep things that are out of sight from being out of mind.

Camry’s reinvented hybrid engine is entirely beltless. This design not only offers remarkable reliability, but also saves weight, reduces friction and improves fuel economy. By reengineering various vehicle components and employing stateof the-art materials, we reduced Camry Hybrid’s overall curb weight by 200 lb. We engineered a way to move the battery forward, opening up more room in the trunk and ensuring that we didn’t take up otherwise usable space. An electric water pump doesn’t employ a v-belt. This design not only improves efficiency, but also shortens engine warm-up time, helping to reduce emissions. For more than a decade, Toyota has been a world leader in the development of eco-sensitive technology with our advanced Hybrid Synergy Drive system. And with each passing year, this tried and tested system continues to get more efficient, more powerful, more reliable and more popular.

Even with properly adjusted side mirrors, adjacent vehicles may enter “blind spots,” areas that are outside of the driver’s view. Camry’s Blind Spot Monitor (BSM) uses radar to scan these blind spots for moving motor vehicles. Located on both sides of Camry, the monitors identify moving vehicles in its blind spots. If the system detects a vehicle in the area, it illuminates a warning indicator on the appropriate side mirror. Via Toyota’s 24/7 call center, available Safety Connect offers subscribers helpful features such as Emergency Assistance, Stolen Vehicle Locator, Roadside Assistance and Automatic Collision Notification. Safety Connect also offers the reliability of embedded cellular and GPS technology.

Smart Key offers you a note of enhanced luxury. When you approach 2012 Toyota Camry with the Smart Key fob in your pocket or purse, the interior illuminates automatically; the doors unlock when you touch either front door handle; the trunk opens with the touch of its handle; and the engine starts with the push of a button. When backing up, the area behind Camry that’s visible to the camera is displayed on the touch-screen of the audio system’s display.

At speeds greater than five miles per hour, when the accelerator isndepressed first and the brakes are then applied firmly for longer than one-half second, Smart Stop Technology is designed to help the driver bring the vehicle to a complete stop. At Toyota, safety is one of our topnpriorities. That’s why we equipped Camry with an array of both active safety systems, to help keep you out of harm’s way, and passive safety systems, to help protect you should a collision occur. As somebody once said, there is safety in numbers. That’s why every 2012 Camry Hybrid comes hybrid with a comprehensive airbag system that offers an impressive ten airbags.2 The system includes both driver and front passenger airbags, front and rear side curtain airbags, front and rear seat-mounted side airbags, and both driver and front passenger knee airbags all standard equipment.

TOYOTA CAMRY HYBRID Star Safety System is an advanced suite of six safety features offered as standard equipment on every Camry. The system includes Enhanced Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), Traction Control (TRAC), Anti-lock Brake System (ABS), Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD), Brake Assist (BA)4 and Smart Stop Technology (SST). Classified as “active” safety features, they’re designed to work proactively in certain situations to help prevent accidents from occurring in the first place.

As air flows over the surfaces of a moving vehicle, friction can cause that air to tumble over and under itself, increasing drag and creating erratic air pressure forces around the vehicle. Vortex generators alter the airflow before it becomes turbulent, creating a series of controlled spins, or vortices, and helping to equalize air pressure forces, reduce drag and improve vehicle stability.
To enhance Camry’s overall ride quality, we optimized the shock absorber tuning to achieve a high-end dampening feel. We improved Camry’s handling and stability by recalculating the rear suspension geometry.

2012 Toyota Camry Hybrid comes standard with sporty 18-in. wheels and tires. To better handle this larger setup, we made the knuckle and lower arm assembly stronger and lighter. Airflow under a vehicle is crucial to performance. On the reinvented Camry we added a series of broad plates that feature aerodynamic fins front and rear to help manage air turbulence beneath the vehicle, improving stability and handling.

With each day bringing new advancements to the way we live and work, shouldn’t your car be advanced too? Meet the reinvented 2012 Toyota Camry, the car designed to fit you and your 21st century lifestyle. You’re no doubt familiar with Camry; it’s America’s best-selling car. And over the past 25 years, it’s become the standard for quality. In fact, 90% of all Camrys sold in the last 15 years are still on the road. With such remarkable acclaim, you might expect us to rest on our laurels. We didn’t. Toyota Camry is more luxurious, with a redesigned interior. It’s now available with new multimedia systems. And the Toyota Camry Hybrid LE now offers an estimated 43 city mpg. Quite simply, the 2012 Camry is what you’ve come to expect from this legendary sedan. The reinvented Toyota Camry is ready.

In creating the reinvented 2012 Toyota Camry , we pored over every facet of the previous model’s interior in search of even the subtlest ways to enhance what was already a remarkable driving experience. We incorporated high-quality upholstery materials and married the elements with refined stitching. We crafted the dashboard with an artistry normally found in high-priced sedans. On the Toyota Camry XLE, we adorned key touch points throughout the cabin with rich woodgrain style accents. This unwavering search for ways to improve on a car of such legendary quality may seem like overkill to some, but it’s precisely this approach that has made Camry America’s best-selling car.

Available with a wide array of innovative technologies, the 2012 Camry is taking transportation in a bold direction. In addition to available navigation, its multimedia systems offer such highlights as standard Bluetooth hands-free phone capability, available advanced voice-recognition and Entune, a new feature integrated with select Toyota models that allows drivers to access popular mobile phone apps and data services. With all this, you won’t just drive Camry, you’ll connect with it. Boasting a sharp 7-in. high-resolution VGA touch-screen display, this available multimedia system offers advanced features like hard-drive navigation with SiriusXM Satellite Radio capability, NavTraffic, NavWeather, Bluetooth wireless technology, advanced voice recognition, split-screen functionality, embedded points of interest, CD, DVD and MP3/WMA capability, an auxiliary audio jack, a USB5 port, JBL GreenEdge audio system and Toyota’s new mobile application system, Entune.

Combining a variety of new eco-conscious technologies, the JBL GreenEdge audio system achieves dramatic energy efficiency while delivering superb audio performance. With reduced power consumption, increased audio performance and lower system weight, the JBL GreenEdge system is a substantial upgrade over conventional audio systems. Whether you’re talking about interior space or noise levels, volume has a lot to do with driving comfort. In crafting the reinvented 2012 Toyota Camry, our engineers found a variety of ingenious ways to add interior volume where it matters most, without increasing the external dimensions of the vehicle. They also reduced the volume of exterior noise entering the cabin. In these ways and more, our engineers were able to improve on what was already a remarkably comfortable vehicle. And that speaks volumes. To help create Camry’s roomy environment, we sculpted the lower door panels to allow for more lateral knee room and reshaped the headlining for greater head room. The general sense of spaciousness, too, was enhanced by opening up the outside view. We engineered pillars that were more streamlined. Upper door surfaces and the top of the instrument panel were reshaped. Even the sun visors were repositioned to further open the forward view.

Employing sound-imaging instruments, extensive tests were conducted to pinpoint areas where road and engine noise was entering the cabin. Additional sound-absorbing measures were then taken in those areas to help create Camry’s whisper-quiet ride. To help you transport longer items, such as snow skis or that towering new floor lamp, Camry’s 60/40 split fold-down rear seat drops to create a handy pass-through to the voluminous trunk. Camry’s accommodating interior is designed to help you manage your liquid assets, providing four cup holders and six bottle holders.

The bumps we’re referring to are not the ones you encounter on the road surface. Those are deftly handled by Camry’s tuned suspension. The bumps we’re talking about are small, specially shaped projections called vortex generators that we positioned on Camry’s undercarriage and at key points on the body. It may sound counterintuitive, but vortex generators help stabilize performance by dictating airflow behavior around the vehicle.

Get behind the wheel of Toyota Camry SE and there will be no doubt that this is one forwardlooking sedan. Thanks to Variable Valve Timing with intelligence (VVT-i), Camry offers not just assertive power, but sensible mileage too a good quality to have in this age of high fuel prices. Factor in SE’s sport-tuned suspension, and you have an impressive blend of performance and efficiency. This winning combination clearly puts Camry ahead of the curve. Right feet rejoice. The available 3.5-liter V6 DOHC 24-valve Dual VVT-i engine produces an impressive 268 horsepower and 248 lb.-ft. of torque, while still achieving an EPA estimated 30 highway mpg rating. Paired with the 6-speed automatic transmission with sequential shift and paddle shifters, this powerplant delivers a driving experience that’s nothing short of exhilarating.

Let your fingers do the shifting. Camry SE’s race inspired paddle shifters deliver real hands-on performance. Not only do the paddles on the 2012 Toyota Camry upshift and downshift almost twice as fast as the previous generation Camry, the system automatically matches revs during downshifting. To shift, simply pull the right paddle to upshift and the left one to downshift. Improving handling dynamics typically involves suspension components. But Camry’s impressive agility was also augmented by making the steering more responsive. To accomplish this, we not only increased the steering gear ratio, but also optimized the Electric Power Steering (EPS) system for more sensitivity. Clearly, Camry turns more than just heads. Style your ride. Standard on the Camry SE V6, these sharp 18-in. alloy wheels offer sporty performance, not to mention sporty looks. Things are looking up. Camry’s remarkable driving experience is made even more uplifting with an available power tilt/slide moonroof, complete with sliding sunshade.

Over the past 25 years, Camry has won the loyalty of millions with its unique blend of efficiency, features, value and reliability. Now, with the 2012 Toyota Camry Hybrid LE  delivering an estimated 43 city/39 highway/41 combined mpg,2 it’s more than just economical, it’s one of the most fuel-efficient sedans in its class. Plus, it achieves all that while producing 200 hp. Time to add even more Americans to its legion of enthusiasts though gas station owners may be less than thrilled. For more than a decade, Toyota has been a world leader in the development of eco-sensitive technology with our advanced Hybrid Synergy Drive system. And with each passing year, this tried and tested system continues to get more efficient, more powerful, more reliable and more popular.

Camry’s new hybrid engine features a variety of modifications designed to enhance performance and fuel economy. For starters, the engine employs the Atkinson Cycle, which optimizes the durations of the engine’s four strokes to help maximize fuel efficiency. The expansion ratio was increased as well, further boosting gas mileage. A long-port plastic intake manifold, together with a long-branch exhaust manifold, also enhances performance, saves weight and reduces engine noise. The gear-driven balance shaft was even coated with a low-friction resin for low vibration and additional efficiency. High gas mileage and low emissions are not the only measures of how far our hybrids have come. Camry’s reengineered hybrid engine also delivers an astonishing 200 horsepower. In fact, Camry Hybrid boasts a 0-60 time of a mere 7.6 seconds.1 What’s more, this performance is accomplished while producing less vibration and noise, further enhancing the refined driving experience for which this legendary sedan is known.

Once the phone is connected to the vehicle using Bluetooth wireless technology or a USB cable, the features of Entune are operated using the vehicle’s controls or, for some services, by voice recognition. Entune is scheduled to have mobile apps for Bing, iHeartRadio, MovieTickets.com, OpenTable and Pandora.

In 2012 Camry Hybrid, rear-seat comfort doesn’t take a back seat to front-seat comfort. To help improve rear-seat leg room, we redesigned the shape of the front seats, allowing for additional knee space.
