2012 Chevrolet Malibu Excellent Performace Reviews

The Chevrolet Malibu is Malibu name was moved to the new Epsilon platform based on the 2002 Opel Vectra C for 2004. The Epsilon-based Malibu came in two bodystyles, a standard 4 door sedan and a 5 door Chevrolet Malibu Maxx station wagon. This generation of the Malibu initially debuted with a front fascia design featuring a wide grille split horizontally by a prominent chrome bar that ran the entire width of the car, which was intended to make it resemble Chevrolet's trucks. The Malibu was redesigned for the 2008 model year by Bryan Nesbitt, under the direction of GM Vice Chairman Robert Lutz who was determined to make the nameplate competitive with Japanese mid-size cars. Extensive engineering and design went into the remodel.

The 2012 Chevrolet Malibu engines feature Variable Valve Timing (VVT) an efficiency that optimizes combustion, enhances low-end torque and helps lower tailpipe emissions. A 252-horsepower 3.6L engine with dual overhead camshafts and VVT is available on LT and LTZ. Fuel economy for this V6 engine is 17 MPG city/26 MPG highway. 2012 Chevrolet Malibu with up to 33 MPG highway3, Chevrolet Malibu LTZ offers up to 528 highway miles on a single fill-up. A 4-cylinder DOHC engine and 6-speed automatic transmission, standard on all models, helps maximize performance and fuel efficiency.

The leather-appointed LTZ features a heated driver seat that includes an eight-way power adjuster, while the heated passenger seat offers a six-way power adjuster. There's even a leather-wrapped shift knob and steering wheel for true driving enthusiasts, standard on 2LT and LTZ. From the dual cockpit to the sculpted doors, one thoughtful detail flows seamlessly into the next. You'll be impressed by the nearly microscopic gaps many as tight as 1mm in Malibu's interior fit and finish. And you can even feel it because our designers went back and spent countless hours touch-testing seats, door frames, steering wheels, consoles and just about every other surface to make sure everything felt exactly right.
